3.4 About the integrated rechargeable batteries
The EVO contains rechargeable batteries.
Wrong handling of the batteries can cause in-
jury and explosion.
If it becomes necessary to replace the bat-
teries, contact a specialist dealer or Royal Ap-
pliance Customer Services. Never replace the
batteries yourself, and by no means replace
the batteries with batteries of a different type.
3.5 About the power supply
The appliance is charged and operated with
electricity so there is always the risk of an elec-
tric shock. So please observe the following in
particular:
Never touch the mains adapter with wet
hands.
Never immerse the appliance or the mains
adapter in water or other fluids and keep them
away from rain and moisture.
If you want to pull the mains adapter out of
the socket, always pull directly on the plug.
Never pull the mains adapter's power cord.
Do not carry the mains adapter by its power
cord.
3.6 About appropriate use
This appliance may only be used in
households. It is not suitable for industrial or
commercial use.
The sweeping robot must only be used to
wipe up dust or wash clean normally soiled
hard floors.
Any other use is considered inappropriate and
is prohibited.
It is especially forbidden:
To use, store or charge the appliance out-
doors.
To put objects onto the appliance.
To modify or repair the appliance or the
mains adapter yourself.
Only use the mains adapter supplied with
the appliance to charge the batteries. Never
charge the batteries with another mains
adapter. Use the mains adapter supplied
solely to charge the batteries of this appli-
ance.
Only dispose of the batteries as described
after their operational life, ZChapter 8.4,
"Removing the integrated batteries".
Take care that the mains adapter's power
cord is not bent, pinched, rolled over or comes
into contact with heat sources.
Only charge the appliance if the voltage
indicated on the mains adapter matches the
voltage of your socket.
Always check the mains adapter's power
cord for possible damage before using it.
The power plug must be removed from the
socket-outlet before cleaning or performing
maintenance on the appliance.
Also forbidden is use:
- ... close to hot, smouldering, burning,
pointed or sharp objects;
- ... on carpets, or uneven, rough or too
smooth surfaces;
- ... to clean up liquids;
- ... when the floor cloth is too wet;
- ... when the floor cloth has not been at-
tached;
- ... to clean up quantities of dirt exceed-
ing the usual accrual of dust and parti-
cles; and
- ... with the wet washing cloth on un-
sealed wooden floors and other sensi-
tive floors.
