3.3 Functional description

In combination with a thermostat, the "Unibox
TQ vario" is used for individual room tempera-
ture control in surface heating systems.
You have to option to operate the "Unibox TQ
vario" with a thermostat with remote control or
a room thermostat with actuator.
The thermostat with remote control or the room
thermostat which have to be ordered sepa-
rately detect the room temperature which is
transferred to the control piston or the actuator.
The control piston or the actuator opens or
closes the thermostatic valve according to
requirements.
You can set the desired room temperature by
turning the handwheel of the thermostat with
remote control or by setting the room thermo-
stat.
The installation position of the "Unibox TQ
vario" has to be chosen so that the heating
fluid passes first through the heating circuit and
then through the valve of the "Unibox TQ var-
io". On its way from the entry into the heating
surface to the "Unibox TQ vario", the heating
fluid cools down.
The integrated infinitely adjustable, diaphragm
controlled and differential pressure independ-
ent valve insert "QA" allows for an automatic
flow control (hydronic balancing) of the surface
heating. The flow control unit integrated in the
valve insert maintains the differential pressure
at a constant level via the presetting and regu-
lating cross-section of the valve.
