Special safety precautions
Note: the vacuum pump contains oil. Make sure the unit always remains horizontal to prevent
oil leaking from the pump.
Guidelines for the bags: the bags should always be smaller than the welding strip. At least 15
mm on either side.
The bag foil thickness should be between 0.06 and 0.18 mm (60 – 180 µm).
We recommend Hendi plastic bags. See "Consumables".
Do not attempt to vacuum-seal liquid food/liquids.
Do not attempt to vacuum-seal sharp objects that might damage the bags.
Do not put metal objects in the vacuum chamber near the sealbar. This could cause electrical
breakdown.
The cover automatically opens quite vigorously after sealing. Make sure to lock the vacuum
chamber with the bracket at the front, especially if you're leaning over to look inside the
chamber – else the lid will slap you in the face.
Preparations before using for the first time
Check to make sure the appliance is undamaged. In case of any damage, contact your
supplier immediately and do NOT use the appliance.
Remove all the packing material and protection film (if applicable).
Clean the appliance with luke-warm water and a soft cloth.
Place the appliance on a level and steady surface, unless mentioned otherwise.
Make sure there is enough clearance around the appliance for ventilation purposes.
Position the appliance in such a way that the plug is accessible at all times.
Check the oil level on the back side of the appliance. The round sight glass should show the oil
level mark half full. If you don't see any oil. Do not use the appliance and contact your supplier.
