Weller DS 22 and DS 22 antistatic can be connected to all desoldering equipment with
electronic temperature regulation.
The Weller DS 80 (UNC) and DSX 80 antistatic can be connected to all electronically regulated
desoldering equipment with 80 W connectors. To avoid the connection to any less powerful
controlunits, the DS 80 is equipped with a special 7 pin plug.

Starting operation
Place desoldering iron into safety holder and connect 7-pin arresting plug to socket at the
front of the unit. Put vacuum tube to connection nipple of the main filter.
Switch on unit. Set temperature to 300°C. The light emitting diode for the visual check on
regulation illuminates.
Intermittent light means that the selected temperature has been reached.
No lumination means that the actual temperatur is higher than the selected temperature
(Hysteresis).
Continuous lumination means that system heats - actual temperature is below set
temperature.
The suction process is starting by actuating the finger-switch.
Wenn desoldering it should be observed that the suction tip is held vertically to the circuit
board surface. Solder must be completely fluid (very important in case of circuit boards with
contacted through-holes). Suck up the solder in a single operation while circularly moving
the connection pin of the component within the hole. If the solder is not completely removed
after the sucking operation (mostly caused by air-entrance through inclined suction nozzles
or by inadequate heating-up) the soldering joint should be tinned before desoldering. Regular
retinning increases the lifetime of tiplets.
