7 Nozzle for excess dirt discharge. Special excess dirt nozzle for
directing the excess dirt present in the tank (adding a 8 mm
internal diameter pipe).
8 Magnet. Magnet for fixing the product to the tank (Glass thickness
Max 12 mm) and for vertical adjustment.
9 Water intakes. Multi-level water suction.
10 Water outlet. Surface water outlet.
INSTALLATION
BLUSKIMMER is quick and easy to install:
1 Position the product inside the tank, taking care to ensure that the
intake and outlet grilles are not close to elements that could in any
way limit the suction or flow capacity; the magnet outside the tank
allows the product to be fixed safely (CAYMAN aquarium Fig. 2,
STAR aquariums Fig. 3);
2 the collection tank must always remain above the water level;
3 the silencer must always remain outside the tank (to fix it use the
special sucker);
4 adjust the vertical position of the skimmer using the magnet outside
the tank and lining up the water level with the recommended level
"water level" shown on the product (Fig. 4);
5 connect the product to the mains;
6 for the first installation, the skimmer needs about 24-48 hours to
reach its operating balance;
7 if at first you notice excess foam production, reduce the air flow
using the regulator on the silencer (Fig. 7); only later should you
try to increase the air flow, returning, if possible, to the maximum
level;
8 once it is fully operating, you can make small adjustments to the
foam production by moving the skimmer vertically (with a total
maximum range of about 1 cm) (Fig. 4) downwards if there is too
little foam produced or if the foam is too dry and upwards if too
much foam is produced or it is too wet;
9 for prolonged absences, you can connect a pipe to the excess dirt
nozzle (after removing the plug), in order to allow discharge into a
container outside the tank (Fig. 6).
INSTALLATION IN A CAYMAN AQUARIUM
Before opening the lid, always remember to remove
the collection tank.
In a CAYMAN aquarium (excluding models 40 and 50) the skimmer
can be positioned in the special compartment, after appropriately
removing the cover and cutting the plastic, as shown in the picture
(Fig. 2).
INSTALLATION IN A STAR AQUARIUM
Before opening the lid, always remember to remove
the collection tank.
In a STAR aquarium, the skimmer can be positioned in line with the
rear grilles, after appropriately removing them and introducing the
collection tank; in some previous versions of STAR aquariums the grills
are not positioned to let the collection tank pass through, therefore it
is necessary to cut the aluminium (Fig. 5).
Maintenance
The primary recommended maintenance operations are shown below:
1 periodically check the collection tank and, if necessary, empty it
and wash it with running water; making sure that the dirt collected
never ends up in the tank (Fig. 8).
2 ensure that the holes on the lid of the tank are never blocked;
3 periodically clean the intake and outlet grilles, checking that they
are never blocked;
4 clean the skimmer impeller every 1/2 months, as shown in the
diagram (Fig. 9), taking care of removing salt deposits from the end
part of the silicon pipe (air inlet).
Spare parts and accessories
The BLUSKIMMER spare parts are available at the shop where
you bought the product. Numerous Ferplast accessories that are
continuously updated, useful for adapting your aquarium to all kinds
of needs, are also available. To replace a component and always
guarantee your product's maximum operation and safety, only
original Ferplast spare parts must be used. Installation of non original
spare parts invalidates the warranty.
