Set-up and Operation
Press the control knob to ON. The light on the button will come on and one
quartz lamp will work at half power (450W).
If you wish, switch on the second lamp in the same way (900W full power).
In order to switch both lamps off again, turn the relevant button back to OFF. The
light will go out. The heater is now off. Then remove the plug from the socket.
Never leave the heater plugged in when it is not in use!
Please note: When you use the heater for the first time, a little smoke and an
odour may be produced. This is normal and harmless, and should cease after a
few minutes. If the heater does not stop smoking, switch the heater off, remove
the plug from the socket and contact your supplier.
The heater, and particularly the radiation grid, become extremely hot during use
and will also remain warm for some time after the heater has been switched off.
Do not fold in the base until the heater has cooled down fully!
If you wish to relocate the heater, first switch it off, remove the plug from the
socket and allow it to cool down before moving it. To relocate the heater, use the
handle at the top.
In order to prevent over-heating, never cover the heater!
WARNING! Some parts of this product could become very hot and cause
burns. Be especially careful if children or vulnerable persons are in the
Safety features
The heater is fitted with a tipping safeguard which automatically shuts off the
appliance if it inadvertently falls over. However, this does not rule out all risks: even
after the heater has been switched off, it and particularly the radiation grid, will
remain very hot for some time and if it is left lying, for example, on a wooden floor or
carpet, it can cause fire/melting/scorching damage and result in a fire. Therefore
remain cautious at all times!
When the heater is returned to its upright position, it will resume functioning as
normal but, before reusing, switch off, unplug and check for damage. Do not use the
heater if it is damaged or malfunctioning, but have it inspected/repaired!
Cleaning and Maintenance
Keep the heater clean. Deposits of dust and dirt in the appliance are a common
cause of overheating so these should be removed regularly. Switch off the heater,
remove the plug from the socket and allow the heater to cool down before cleaning or
carrying out maintenance work.
Wipe the outside of the heater regularly with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not
use aggressive soaps, sprays, cleaners or abrasives, waxes, polishes or
chemical solutions!
Using a vacuum cleaner, carefully remove any dust and dirt from the grills. Be
careful not to touch or damage any internal parts during cleaning!
The heater contains no other parts which need maintenance.
At the end of the season, store the cleaned heater in the original packaging if
necessary. Store it upright in a cool, dry and dust-free place.
Do not dispose of heater with household waste when it becomes worn or
damaged beyond repair. Take it to your local authority's collection point for
immediate vicinity.
