1.1 ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS FOR MAINS-POWERED DEVICES
This manual is intended solely for use by qualified technical installation personnel.
In view of the hazards that may arise during installation and use of the equipment, for complete safety, the
installation must be carried out in full compliance with current laws, procedures, rules and regulations.
All power supply circuits must be disconnected before accessing the terminals inside the product.
If any automatic circuit breakers or fuses are tripped, the fault must first be traced and repaired before resetting
them.
1.2 PRECAUTIONS FOR INSTALLATION
Check that all the material to be used is in perfect condition and suitable for use.
The individual components are designed for Class III environmental classification: sheltered outdoor use;
temperature between -25 and +70°C, average humidity 75%, with peaks from 85% to 95%, and no condensation.
Verify, by comparing the values given in the "Technical Specifications" section, that the range of the devices is
equal to or lower than the physical distance between the barriers.
Check that the barrier is positioned in areas safe from impacts, on level ground and on secure fixing supports in
order to prevent swaying.
Do not place the system components near strong heat sources as this could damage them.
Carefully read the instructions on selection of an appropriate location for the barrier in the relevant section of this
manual.
Once installed, you must ensure that the water-tight covers on the barrier are properly sealed.
Use the provided cable gland for cables entering at the base. Failure to use suitable accessories will forfeit the
protection rating (IP).
Make sure that there are no obstacles of any kind between the sensors, allowing the beam an opening of about 1
metre, depending on the length of the section.
In the case of protection close to a wall, leave a space of about 10 centimetres from the wall.
If possible, avoid installing the receiver barrier in a position exposed to strong sunlight at sunrise or sunset.
If possible, avoid installing groups of barriers in such a way that the transmission devices may interfere with one or
more receiving devices. For this reason, it is useful to place the devices in pairs of transmitters and receivers.
