Care and Use for Pizza Stone from clay
Dear RÖSLE Customer,
You have made a good choice and decided on a long-lasting quality product. To ensure that
you can enjoy using it for many years, please carefully read the following product informati-
on on the optimum handling and care of your pizza stone. Please keep this information in a
safe place.
Safety Notice:
The pizza stone gets very hot during use and should only be carried or moved when wea-
ring heat-proof gloves. Never pour fluids onto the stone because this could cause steaming
which could lead to the danger of burns.
Before use:
Remove the pizza stone from the packaging and give it a quick wipe with a damp cloth.
Please do not immerse the stone in water as the material is open-pored and absorbs fluids.
Please do not use oils, (chemical) cleaners or other fluids on the pizza stone. Cleaning with
clear water on a damp cloth is absolutely sufficient. After cleaning, please allow the stone to
dry completely so that no more dark water spots can be seen.
If necessary, you can slowly dry the pizza stone by putting it in the oven at a temperature of
about 50 °C I 122 °F.
Use:
1. Fill-up the grill with fuel up to the authorised maximum capacity and ignite as descri-
bed in the instruction manual.
2. Get the fuel to glow in accordance with the instructions. When using a gas and/or
pellet grill, you can place the pizza stone on the grill immediately.
3. Position the pizza stone at the centre of the grilling surface.
4. Open all the air intakes.
5. Get the grill to the required temperature, close the lid and allow the stone to warm-
up for at least 15 – 30 minutes. When baking pizzas, the temperature on the stone
needs to be at least 300 – 370 °C I 572 °F – 698 °F in order to achieve a good
baking result.
6. After the heating-up time, the garnished pizza should be placed on the stone by
means of a slider or by putting the baking paper with the pizza onto the stone. Please
note that the baking paper must be removed after 2 – 3 minutes, as it could other-
wise burn.
7. Close the lid again.
8. When the pizza is baked and ready, remove it from the pizza stone.
9. After use, allow the pizza stone to cool down slowly on the grill or a heat-resistant
surface.
The pizza stone can also be used in the oven. Simply place the pizza stone on the grate and
pre-heat together for approx. 15 – 30 minutes. Then bake pizza as described in the recipe.
Please note:
The pizza stone should not come into contact with water, particularly when the stone is hot.
The pizza stone must never be 'shocked' with cold water. 'Shocking' the pizza stone with
cold water can lead to the cracking or breakage of the stone.
