10. Maintenance and cleaning
• From time to time, you have to change the batteries of the IR remote control if you notice that the IR range is
decreasing or if the LED light writing module no longer reacts to the remote control.
Open the battery compartment of the IR remote control, exchange the batteries and close the battery compartment
again. Dispose of the batteries with respect to environmental protection; see chapter 12.
• The LED light writing module has an integrated battery type "CR2032", which serves to retain the memory. This
battery has a service life of approx. 2 years.
If you notice that the data saved in the LED light writing module is deleted after a power failure, you have to
exchange this battery.
Remove the two small screws of the cover containing the sockets for the power supply and the computer connection
(pull the plug previously, separate the LED light writing module from the power pack!).
Carefully remove the cover, observe the small metal hook between the cover and the casing (this serves for attachment
with a steel cable).
Carefully pull the display module out of the casing.
The battery "CR2032" may be fixed in place with a drop of hot glue; remove this carefully from the battery attachment.
Then you can take out the battery and exchange it for a new one.
Observe the correct polarity (the positive pole points upwards towards you).
Now you can reassemble the LED light writing in reverse order; make sure to observe the correct position of the
small metal hook between the cover and the casing.
• To clean the outside of the product, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient. Do not use any aggressive detergent as
this might cause discoloration. Don't press too much onto the display; this could damage it or could cause scratch
marks.
