5. Safety instructions

The warranty will lapse for damage due to non-compliance with these operating instructions.
We will not assume liability for any resulting damage.
We do not accept liability for damage to property and injury to persons caused by mishandling
or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The warranty is voided in these cases.
Dear customer, The safety instructions and danger warnings below are not only for the protection of the
device but also to protect your well being. Please read carefully through the following points:
• For safety and licensing (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifications to the product
are not permitted.
Never disassemble the product! There is a risk of a fatal electric shock.
• The design of the power unit conforms to Protection Class II. Only connect the power pack unit to a
normal mains socket (230 V~/ 50 Hz).
• The IR remote control may only be supplied with power by battery. (For the type, refer to the "Technical
data").
• The device must be set up correctly. Please also follow these operating instructions.
Install or mount the product in a suitable spot. The installation site must be sufficiently large, stable
and level.
• Check the product for damage before each use! If you notice any damage, do not use the product any
longer, disconnect it from the mains, pull the power plug out of the mains socket. Bring it to a specialized
workshop or dispose of it in an environmentally-friendly way.
• The insulation of the entire product may not be damaged or destroyed. Do not drill any holes into the
casing, do not screw in any screws. Special attachments are enclosed to the LED light writing, which
you can use for installation.
• When installing the device, make sure that the cables (mains cable, USB or RS232 cable) are not
pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children. Be especially careful when
children are around.
Children cannot assess the dangers involved when dealing with electric current. Place the product in
a way that it is out of reach of children.
• Do not expose the product to extreme temperatures (<0°C or >40°C), direct sunlight, vibration or
humidity.
The product can only be used in dry interiors, it cannot become damp or wet, danger through an
electric shock!
• The product may not be exposed to mechanical strain.
• Never pour liquids on electrical devices, and never place any liquid-containing objects (such as vases)
on top of them or near them. This would cause a serious danger of fire or electric shock.
Should that case occur anyway, power-off the socket to which the power pack of the LED light writing
is connected (e.g. by switching off the circuit breaker).
