■ Sewing start position
When right stopping has been set, sewing starts from the right side. When left stopping has been set, sewing starts from
the left side.
•
If the needle stops in the needle down stop position, the needle will be raised to the needle up stop position when
the treadle is depressed backward. (The workpiece can then be changed.)
The next sewing operation starts from the same position.
Note:
Do not press the half stitch key or correction key or turn the machine pulley by hand to move the needle to the
needle up stop position. Doing so will cancel the effect of the zigzag stop position function.
•
For the scallop sewing pattern only, once the SET key is pressed to accept a setting, sewing of right scallops will start
from the left side, and sewing of left scallops will start from the right side.
When no zigzag stop position is specified
If plain zigzag, 2-step zigzag or 3-step zigzag patterns are sewn with no zigzag stop position specified, sewing will start
from the left side once the SET key is pressed to accept a setting.
● Sewing start position change function (additional DIP switch function)
(Be sure to turn off the power before changing any of the DIP switch settings. Refer to page 163.)
When DIP switch 2-3 inside the control box is set to ON, the sewing start position for plain zigzag, 2-step zigzag and
3-step zigzag stitches will be as follows (depending on the zigzag stop position setting) immediately after the SET key
has been pressed to accept a setting. (Refer to page 165.)
•
Right stop position setting ... Sewing will start from the left.
•
Left stop position setting ... Sewing will start from the right.
•
No setting ... Sewing will start from the right.
7-3. Setting the sewing speed
• The sewing speed is set using the operation panel.
• The setting range is between 220 rpm and 5,000 rpm.
(Between 300 and 5,000 rpm, the setting can be made in steps of 100 rpm.)

Note:
The sewing speed is limited by the amount of zigzag movement. Accordingly, the actual sewing speed may differ
from the setting speed for the following sewing patterns as a result of the zigzag width setting. The speeds are
controlled automatically as shown below.
* There is no such limit on the sewing speed for straight stitch and 3-step zigzag sewing patterns.
