Problem
Coffee does
not run through
Coffee runs out quickly
Coffee runs out around
the edge of the filter holde

POSSIBLE CAUSES
Machine is not turned on or plugged in
Water tank is empty
Coffee grind is too fine
Too much coffee in the filter
Coffee tamped too firmly
The filter is blocked
The coffee grind is too coarse
Not enough coffee in the filter
Coffee not tamped firmly enough
Filter holder is not inserted in the brew head properly
There are coffee grounds around the filter rim
Too much coffee in the filter
Coffee has been tamped too firmly
Incorrect filter for amount of coffee used
What to do
Ensure the machine is plugged in and the 'on/off' button is in the
'on' position.
Refer to step 1 – Filling the water tank on page 56.
Ensure you use a suitable espresso grind. Refer to 'The Grind' on
page 62-63.
Refer to 'Preparing the coffee' on page 57.
Refer to 'Tamping the coffee' on page 57.
Use the fine pin on the cleaning tool to clear the holes.
Please refer to 'Cleaning the filters' on page 64.
Ensure you use a suitable espresso grind. Refer to 'The Grind' on
page 62-63.

Clean any excess coffee from the rim of the filter holder to ensure
a proper fit into the brew head.

Ensure you use the small filter for 1 cup of coffee and the large
filter for 2 cups of coffee.
