Service
The following precautions should generally
be observed before starting any maintenance
work:
1.
In order to avoid the spread of dust, the mach-
ine must be vacuumed and wiped clean, and
the suction openings sealed off, for example
by using plugs, before the machine is removed
from the contaminated area.
2. All machines must be regarded as being
contaminated if they are removed from the
hazardous zone. Appropriate measures must
be taken to prevent the spread of dust.
3. When performing maintenance or repair ope-
rations, all contaminated items that have not
been cleaned satisfactorily must be disposed
of. Such items must be disposed of in dust-
proof bags in accordance with the provisions
that are applicable to the disposal of waste.
4. Clean the machine before disassembly.
5. (Wherever possible), choose a room with fi lte-
red, forced ventilation.
6. Clean the maintenance area beforehand.
7.
Use suitable personal protective equipment.
8. The fi lter cartridge in the cyclone should be
replaced as necessary, and at least once a
year.Only use original fi lters (part nos. 42028H
+ 42027H).
9. Motor unit: The fi lters in the motor housing
must be replaced as part of the annual ser-
vice (part no. 432183H). These parts must
be replaced by qualifi ed personnel who have
been trained by Dustcontrol. These fi lters form
part of the explosion protection system. In
the event of high levels of dust, an inspection
should be carried out after 4 months to deter-
mine whether the fi lters should be changed at
more frequent intervals.
10. The machine should be disconnected from the
power supply during cleaning and maintenan-
ce. Servicing should never take place inside
the zone.
11. Overload protection. The machine is equipped
with protection against overheating. If insuf-
fi cient air fl ows through the motor unit (due
to overload), the motor will switch when its
temperature exceeds 55°C. In these situations,
it is important to investigate the cause of the
overheating. Switch off and unplug from the
mains, then wait until the motor has cooled
down (up to 30 minutes).
12. As these machines are used in an environme-
nt that is hazardous to health, the functioning
of the machine must be inspected by the ma-
nufacturer or a trained person at least once a
year (e.g. inspection of the fi lters for damage,
checking the air-tightness of the dust extrac-
tion machine and functioning of the control
unit, and inspection of the electrical compo-
nents, seals and potential equalisation cables
for damage. Only use original spare parts!
13. To empty the dust collection container, care-
fully release the two fasteners, one at a time,
so as to prevent dust from being stirred up
unnecessarily. After lowering the container (on
the DC 2800 H) or lifting off the upper section
of the machine (on the DC 1800 H), switch the
dust extractor on again so that any fl oating
particles are sucked into the fi lter cyclone. The
container can now be completely removed
from the machine. Carefully remove the plastic
sack from the edge of the bin, seal it tightly
and remove. Insert a new plastic sack and ca-
refully pass the opening back over the edge of
the bin. Make sure that there are no folds and
that the sack is not damaged. Then carefully
place the bin back under the suction unit, at-
tach the two fasteners, switch off the machine,
re-attach the bin to the machine and check for
leaks.
