Troubleshooting
System
Problem
Regenerant tank overflow.
Flowing or dripping water at
drain or regenerant line after
regeneration.
Hard water leakage after
regeneration.
Control will not draw
regenerant.
Control will not regenerate
automatically.
Control regenerates at wrong
time of day.
Intermittent regenerant draw.
No conditioned water after
regeneration.
Backwashes or purges at

B. Drain line restricted with debris.
A. Debris is preventing #3 or #4 valve
disc from closing.
B. Worn #3 or #4 valve disc.
A. Improper regeneration.
B. Leaking of external bypass valve.
C. O -Ring around riser pipe
damaged.
A. Restricted drain line.
B. Injector plugged.
C. D ebris is preventing valve discs
from closing.
A. A C adapter or motor not
connected.
B. D efective motor.
C. M eter clogged with debris.*
A. Time of Day set incorrectly.
A. Low water pressure.
A. No regenerant in regenerant tank.
B. Injector plugged.
A. Incorrect drain controller used.
B. No drain line flow control.
C. Restricted drain line.
A. Control improperly programmed.
A. Bypass valve in bypass position.*
B. M eter cable dislodged from valve.*
C. Meter clogged with debris.*

Solution
A. Ensure all regenerant line
connections are tight.
B. Clean drain control.
A. Remove debris.
B. Replace valve discs.
A. R epeat regeneration after making
certain correct regenerant dosage
was set.
B. Replace bypass valve.
C. Replace O-ring.
A. Remove restriction.
B. Clean injector and screen.
C. R emove foreign matter from valve
discs.
A. Connect power.
B. Replace motor.
C. Remove and clean meter.*
A. Set correct the Time of Day.
A. M aintain a minimum of 1.3 bar
(20 psi) feed.
A. Add regenerant to regenerant tank.
B. Clean injector and screen.
A. Replace with correct size controller.
B. Install drain line flow control.
C. Remove restriction.
A. V erify salt dosage and regeneration
interval settings.
A. Remove bypass valve from bypass.*
B. Fully insert meter cable into valve.*
C. Remove and clean meter.*
