Attention. Always use the cover to release the red mechanism
in the foot of the transverse roof rack. There is a risk of
damaging the red mechanism when opening it with your hands
or a different tool.
• Carry out the previous steps also on the second foot of the transverse
roof rack.
Fig. 9
• Clean the longitudinal roof racks of the vehicle before fitting the
transverse roof racks.
• Position the transverse roof racks according to the dimensions
shown in Fig. 3A, 3B and 3C.
• Place the transverse roof rack onto the longitudinal roof rack and adjust
the length of the transverse roof rack as required (arrow 1).
• It is important, when placing the transverse roof rack on the longitudinal
roof rack, to lift the cover so that the hook moves away from the
longitudinal roof rack and, if the clamping hook does not jump away
sufficiently, push it outwards with your fingers.
Attention. Check that all four feet of the transverse roof rack
are in the correct position and that the entire bearing surface
rests on the longitudinal roof rack.
Make sure that the front and rear transverse roof rack parts are
correctly distinguished, see Fig. 3A, 3B, 3C (a pictogram on the
part), as well as the direction of the profiles in relation to the
direction of travel, see Fig. 2.
Fig. 10
• Check the position of the hook in relation to the longitudinal rack.
• Alternatively, push the roof rack hook down with your thumbs so that
it fits under the side edge of the longitudinal roof rack - see the sections.
Fig. 11
• Use both hands for this step.
• Pull the foot of the roof rack towards you and secure the foot clamping
mechanism by carefully pushing the cover down to avoid contact with
the body.

• Then release the cover by sliding it out of the clamping mechanism.
Fig. 13
• Then insert the cover back into the foot of the transverse roof rack
and push it.
• First, press the cover at the bottom of the transverse roof rack foot
and only then push it upwards.
Fig. 14
• Press the cover and hold it until you turn the key to the horizontal
(locked) position. Remove the key and store it.
• Carry out the previous steps also on the second foot of the transverse
roof rack.
Clamping accessories via T-slot
Fig. 15, 16
• Use a suitable tool to release the rubber band from the T-slot at the top
of the transverse roof rack.
• Use the wheel cover hook, which is included in the vehicle tools, to
release the plug. Do not press too hard on the hook since there is a risk
of damaging the plug snap (approx. 2 mm is enough).
• Remove the rubber strap and insert the equipment fastening elements
• (e.g. for roof box, part no. 3P0 071 200).
• Mount the disassembled parts back. Insert the rubber band cut to the
required length back into the T-slot.
