b) Start-up
• The instructions for the remote control system are included separatedly. Observe strictly the safety
instructions included and all the other information!
• Use only suitable drive batteries for the vehicle. Never operate the speed controller via the power supply
unit, not even for testing purposes.
• This vehicle is suitable only for a 2-cell LiPo drive battery (nominal voltage 7.4 V) or a 6-cell NiMH drive
battery (nominal voltage 7.2 V).
Using drive batteries with more cells poses a risk of fire through overheating of the speed controller;
moreover, the vehicle's drive is overloaded and can be damaged thereby (e.g. the differential). Loss of
guarantee/warranty!
• During start-up, always turn on the transmitter first. Only after that, the vehicle drive battery can be
connected to the speed controller and the speed controller can then be turned on. Otherwise, the vehicle
may react unpredictably!
Proceed as follows:
- Before connecting the drive battery, place the vehicle on a suitable base, so that the wheels can
rotate freely.
- Turn off the speed controller.
- Turn on the transmitter, if you have not done so already. Inspect its function (e.g. transmitter's ope-
ration indicator).
- Set the trimming for the throttle/brake function on the transmitter to the middle position.
- Connect a fully charged drive battery to the speed controller, while observing the correct polarity (red
cable = plus/+, black cable = minus/-).
- Only now turn the speed controller on. Then wait several seconds until the speed controller's self-test
is complete.
• Before you take the vehicle from the base and place it with the wheels on the ground, check if it responds
to the remote control commands (steering and drive) as expected.
• If the drive does not operate as wanted, refer to Chapter 14.
c) Driving the vehicle
• The inappropriate operation can cause serious personal injuries and material damages! Drive only as
long as you have direct visual contact with the model. Therefore, do not drive by night.
• Drive only if your responsive capacity is unrestricted. As with real vehicles, tiredness or the influence of
alcohol or medication may result in incorrect responses.
• Be aware that this model vehicle must not be driven on public roads, squares and paths. Do not operate
it on private property without the consent of the owner.
• Do not drive towards people or animals!
• Avoid driving at very low outdoor temperatures. In this case, the plastic components will lose their elas-
ticity, which can already result in major damages caused by a minor accident.
• Do not drive during thunderstorms, under high voltage power lines or near radio masts.
