Installation Instructions:
1.)
Remove the spare wheel cover and the spare wheel. Open the side panel flap on the right
and remove the rear wiper washer fluid bottle.
Release the trim of the rear luggage compartment in the boot floor.
2.)
Remove the rear bumper and the rear section of the exhaust system from the point at which
it is flanged.
3.)
Hold towing bracket 2 under the vehicle against the centre section of the rear panel. Align
towing bracket 2 centrally and hold it against the rear edge of the centre section of the rear
panel (remove underseal). Observe the dimension of 65 mm in the sketch.
4.)
Mark fixing points a on the body (observe the dimension of 1027 mm), mark with a prick-punch
and drill a Ø 16+2 mm hole in the body and deburr.
5.)
Push the blanking plugs out of the frame side members (of the body) at positions b. Insert
supports 1 into the left and right frame side members and bolt them loosely at positions b
using the M 10 hexagon bolts, 10.5x25x4 washers and lock nuts.
6.)
Align supports 1 with holes a (in the body).
7.)
Hold towing bracket 2 under the vehicle and bolt it to supports 1 at positions a using the M
12 hexagon bolts and fishplates 3.
Tightening torques:
The hexagon bolts at positions g are tightened at the factory and must not be released.
Use hexagon bolts of strength class 8.8 and hexagon nuts of strength class 8.
8.)
Refit all vehicle components removed. Refit the bumper. If necessary, cut away the underside
of the bumper in the middle before refitting it.
