INSTALLATION CHECK LIST
Water heater location
ॶ Installed INDOORS.
ॶ Close to area of mostly used outlet.
ॶ Protected from freezing temperatures.
ॶ Proper clearance from combustible surfaces observed.
ॶ Sufficient fresh air supply for proper operation of water heater.
ॶ Air supply free of corrosive elements and flammable vapors.
ॶ Provisions made to protect area from water damage.
ॶ Sufficient room to service heater.
ॶ Combustible materials, such as clothing, cleaning materials, rags, etc. clear of the heater and vent piping.
ॶ Water heater is properly attached to the wall.
Water Supply
ॶ Water supply has sufficient pressure.
ॶ Air purged from water heater and piping.
ॶ Water connections tight and free of leaks.
ॶ Water filter is clean and in place.
ॶ Materials are used as instructed in this manual.
ॶ Water pipes are insulated.
Gas Supply
ॶ Gas type matches rating plate.
ॶ Gas supply pressure is sufficient for the water heater.
ॶ Gas line equipped with shut-off valve, union and sediment trap.
ॶ Approved pipe joint compound used.
ॶ Commercial leak detector or soap and water solution used to check all connections and fittings for
possible gas leak.
ॶ Gas company inspected installation (if required).
Relief Valve
ॶ Pressure Relief Valve properly installed and discharge line run to open drain.
ॶ Discharge line protected from freezing.
Electrical Wiring
ॶ Voltage matches rating plate.
ॶ Water heater is properly grounded.
ॶ Wiring meets all local codes.
ॶ GFCI Protection where required.
