7.2 Cleaning of the automotive lift
Always switch off the main switch of the system and secure it against switching
on before cleaning or maintenance work.
A regular professional maintenance serves the preservation of the lift.
Besides it is necessary to keep your warranty claim in case of corrosion damages.
The best protection for the lift is regular cleaning from any kind of dirt, especially:
•
de-icing salt
•
sand, pebble stone, natural soil
•
industrial dust of all manner
•
water; also in connection with other environmental influences
•
aggressive deposit of all manner
•
constant humidity because of insufficient ventilation
•
lentic liquids in the pits
How often the lift needs to be cleaned, depends on the frequency of usage, the
place of installation, the cleanness in the working area and the aeration.
Under bad conditions it might be necessary to clean the lift every week, but a
cleaning every month can suffice.
Clean the lift and the floor with a non-aggressive and non-abrasive detergent. Use
gentle detergent and lukewarm water to clean the parts. Avoid contact of any
electric parts with the water.
Remove all dirt carefully with a sponge, if necessary with a brush. Use steam jet
cleaning only for heavy dirt. Do not touch electric parts or damaged varnishing.
Pay attention there are no remains of the detergent on the lift after cleaning.
