OWNER'S MANUAL
1-YS Series Parts Washer Pump
The 1-Y pump is designed for submerged use only. The Little Giant 1-Y
pump motor is hermetically sealed in a die cast aluminum housing,
which is oil filled for heat transfer and permanent lubrication. It is
intended to pump unheated metal parts cleaning solvent, which is UL
classified as PJQU as described in the Gas and Oil Equipment Direc-
tory. These products are refined petroleum distillates, which are free
from tendency to heat spontaneously. They have a closed cup flash
point not lower than 38 °C (100 °F).
The combinations of the fluid pumped, the pump, and the design of
the parts washer will determine if additional safety devices, such as low liquid level cut off are required.
Refer to parts washer manufacturer's instructions to see if this is required.
This product is covered by a Limited Warranty for a period of 1 year from the date of original purchase by
the consumer. For complete warranty information, refer to www.LittleGiant.com.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This equipment should be installed and serviced by technically qualified personnel who are familiar with
the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, equipment, and procedures. Failure to comply with
national and local electrical and plumbing codes and within Little Giant recommendations may result in
electrical shock or fire hazard, unsatisfactory performance, or equipment failure.
Refer to product data plate(s) for additional precautions, operating instructions and specifications.
Know the product's application, limitations, and potential hazards. Read and follow instructions carefully to
avoid injury and property damage. Do not disassemble or repair unit unless described in this manual.
Failure to follow installation or operation procedures and all applicable codes may result in the following
hazards:
Risk of death, personal injury, or property damage due to explosion,
fire, or electric shock.
•
Do not use to pump flammable, combustible, or explosive fluids such as gasoline, fuel oil, kerosene, etc.
•
Do not use in explosive atmospheres or hazardous locations as classified by the NEC, ANSI/NFPA70.
•
When a pump is in its application, do not touch the motor, pipes, or water until the unit is unplugged or electrically disconnected.
•
If the power disconnect is out of sight, lock it in the open position and tag it to prevent unexpected application of power.
•
Do not handle pumps or any other system components with wet hands or when standing on a wet or damp surface, or in water.
•
The low flash point of these combustible liquids does present a moderate fire hazard. Operating the pump fully submerged offers
added protection from fire risk. For other solvent handling precautions, consult the safety data sheet for the solvent used.
•
Use only UL approved metal parts cleaning solvents. The use of fluids such as gasoline, and lower flash point solvents are dan-
gerous and may cause explosions or fire. Solvents other than UL approved metal parts cleaning solvents will void the warranty of
this product.
