For appliances with sandwich plates:
Ham and cheese toasted sandwich
4 slices of bread - 20 g butter - 70 g gruyere cheese - 1 slice cooked ham - pepper.
Butter the outer surfaces of the slices of bread. Cut the gruyere cheese into thin slices and
place half of the cheese on two slices of bread. Place half slice of ham on top and add
pepper. Cover with gruyere cheese then join with the other slices of bread.
Cream cheese and onion toasted sandwich
4 slices of bread - 20 g butter - 1 small onion - chives - 4 tbsp cream cheese, well drained
- 1 tbsp double cream - salt - paprika.
Butter the outer surfaces of the slices of bread. Peel and finely chop the onion. Wash the
chives and cut into tiny pieces with scissors. In a bowl, mix the onion and the chives with
the cream cheese, the double cream, one pinch of salt and half tsp paprika. Fill two slices
of bread with the preparation, then cover with the remaining slices.
Roquefort and walnut toasted sandwich
4 slices of bread - 30 g butter - 8 walnuts - 50 g Roquefort cheese (or stilton).
Butter the outer surfaces of the slices of bread. Roughly chop the walnuts. Stir them with
10 g butter and the Roquefort cheese. Fill two slices of bread with the preparation, then
cover with the remaining slices.
Chocolate and banana toasted sandwich
4 slices of bread - 20 g butter - 2 bars of plain chocolate - half banana.
Butter the outer surfaces of the slices of bread. On two ot them, place two pieces of
chocolate, some banana cut into slices and, once more, two pieces of chocolate. Then
cover with the remaining slices of bread.
For appliances with waffle plates :
Classic waffles
Delicious traditional crispy waffles.
Makes 16 waffles
Cooking time: approximately 3 ½ min
300 g plain flour, 10 g (1 level tablespoon) baking powder, salt, 75 g caster sugar, 100 g
butter, 2 eggs, ½ litre milk.
Mix the flour and baking powder in a bowl. Make a well in the centre and add the salt, sugar,
melted butter and eggs. Gradually add the milk. Let the batter stand for 1 hour.
Light waffles
Enjoy these light texture waffles.
Makes 12 waffles
Cooking time: approximately 3 to 3 ½ min
300 g plain flour, 1 tbsp baking powder, pinch salt, 1 tbsp sugar, 2 eggs, 400 ml milk.
Beat the eggs until frothy. Add the other ingredients and beat the mixture until smooth.

Belgian waffles
Discover a waffle as it is made in Belgium.
Makes 16 waffles
Cooking time: approximately 4 to 4 ½ min
5 eggs, 1 tbsp baking powder, 300 g plain flour, 300 g caster sugar, 300 g butter.
Soften the butter. Combine the flour, sugar and baking powder. Add the softened butter and
the eggs. Mix well.
Soft belgian waffles
Enjoy crusty and soft waffles.
Makes 16 waffles
Cooking time: approximately 5 to 5 ½ min
500 g plain flour, ½ tbsp baking powder, 400 g melted butter, 400 g caster sugar, 200 ml
milk, ½ packet vanilla sugar or ½ tsp vanilla essence, 5 eggs.
Beat the egg whites to form stiff peaks. Beat the egg yolks. Gradually add the remaining
ingredients, finishing with the stiffly beaten egg whites. This batter is best made the day
before and kept in the refrigerator.
Sponge waffles
Add lemon zest for delicious waffles.
Makes 10 waffles
Cooking time: approximately 3 to 3 ½ min
5 egg yolks, 5 tbsp hot water, 100 g caster sugar, grated zest of one lemon, 150 g plain flour,
½ tsp baking powder, 5 egg whites.
Beat together the egg yolks, water, sugar and lemon zest. Combine the flour and baking
powder and add them to the mixture. Beat the egg whites to form stiff peaks and fold them
into the mixture.
Vanilla waffles
An exotic vanilla delight.
Makes 14 waffles
Cooking time: approximately 3 to 4 min
200 g butter, 50 g caster sugar, vanilla pod or 1 tsp vanilla essence, pinch salt, 6 eggs, 300 g
plain flour, 2 tsp baking powder, ¼ litre milk, 1 tbsp rum.
Cream the butter with the sugar, vanilla and salt. Combine the flour and baking powder and
add to the mixture. Gradually add the milk and eggs, then the rum.
Cheese waffles
Ideal for aperitif time!
Makes 20 waffles
Cooking time: approximately 4 to 4 ½ min
100 g butter, 8 egg yolks, ½ tsp salt, 500 g plain flour, ½ tsp baking powder, 50 g grated
Parmesan, ½ litre water, 8 egg whites (stiffly beaten).
Cream the butter until soft. Combine the flour and baking powder. Add in order the egg
yolks, salt, flour, cheese and water. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.
