c) Setup location
• The product may only be used in dry, enclosed spaces. The product must be
protected from damp and wet, as there is a risk of a fatal electric shock!
• Select a stable, flat, clean, sufficiently large place for the charger.
Do not place the charger on flammable materials (e.g. a carpet or tablecloth).
Always use a non-flammable, heatproof surface. Keep the charger away from
flammable or combustible materials (e.g. curtains).
• Make sure that the connection cable to the wall plug is not pinched or damaged
by sharp edges. Place the cable between the wall plug and the charger in such a
way that nobody can trip over it.
• Do not place any containers filled with liquid, e.g. vases or plants, on or next to the
charger. If these liquids get inside the charger, the charger will be ruined; besides
this, there is also a high risk of fire or an explosion.
In such an event, immediately disconnect the product from the power supply and
remove any inserted batteries. Discontinue use and take the charger to a special-
ist repair centre.
If any liquids get into the mains adapter, switch off the mains socket to which
the mains adapter is connected. To do this, first turn off the corresponding circuit
breaker or unscrew the fuse. Furthermore, turn off the residual current device in
order to disconnect all poles of the socket from the mains voltage. Then discon-
nect the power adapter from the mains socket. Do not use the product any longer;
rather, take it to a specialised workshop or dispose of it in an environmentally
friendly manner.
• Do not place the battery charger on valuable furniture without using suitable pro-
tection. Otherwise, there is a risk of scratches, pressure points and discolouration.
