Step 3
[ 6 ]
[ 7 ]
,
Initially set the required brace length. For this, first open the lock on the medial and lateral joint
splints on the thigh and lower leg. The length can be set on the side splints in the "Unlock" position. The
splint should end 5-7 cm before the crotch medially on the thigh. Important: Secure the length set by
locking in the "Lock" position.
Step 4
[ 4 ]
Ensure correct positioning and even surface contact. The joints should be positioned on the side of the
knee joint at the height of the centre of the patella (middle of the kneecap).
In order to maintain a form fit of the joint splints on the leg, the side joint splints can be bent up to the
contour of the leg.
Step 5
[ 8 ]
Use as a rest splint:
For positioning, the brace can also be fully blocked in a defined position. For this, slide the blue slider
directly on the joint to the "Unlock" position, set the required extent of bending and finally lock the joint
again. Immobilisation can be made at -10°, 0°, 10°, 20° or 30°.
[ 10 ]
Use as a ROM splint:
The treating physician provides information regarding any necessary restrictions. Slide the blue slider
directly on the joint to the "Unlock" position to free the joints completely. Then, follow step 6 to set the
scope of movement
Step 6
[ 9a ]
[ 9b ]
,
The therapeutically necessary extension/flexion restriction is made directly on the joint.
For this, the blue bar on the limit stops is folded upwards.
[ 10 ]
Simply push the limit stop downwards to unlock it and move it to the desired angular degree. The
possible degree settings are printed directly on the joint. Please observe that the blue lever must again be
folded downwards to lock the angle adjustment.
Step 7
[ 4 ]
Firstly, close the wide fastener beneath the knee joint in order to fix the brace on the leg.
Step 8
[ 5 ]
Close the fasteners in the following order, always starting from the centre of the knee:
1. Fastener close to the knee on the lower leg (#1)
2. Fastener close to the knee on the thigh (#2)
3. Fastener away from the knee on the lower leg (#3)
4. Fastener away from the knee on the thigh (#4)
Whilst tightening the fastener, smoothen it in the tension direction with your free hand. This avoids twisting
the brace on the leg.
