Digital recipe book
The machine is provided with a digital recipe
book. Here you can view or directly prepare
recipes for Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Caffè
Macchiato, milk coffee, Ristretto, Espresso and
Café Crème.
To view the recipes, proceed as follows:
½ Turn the function controller (20) to
"Recipe book".
½ Keep on pressing the selection keys (19)
until the desired coffee speciality is selected
and confirm with Start (22).
½ The first step recommends the kind of bean
and type or size of cup (see table). To read
the complete description, use the selection
keys (19) to scroll through the recipe.
To directly prepare one of the recipe book
specialities, proceed as follows:
½ Turn the function controller (20) to
"Recipe book".
½ Keep on pressing the selection keys (19)
until the desired coffee speciality is selected
and confirm with Start (22).
½ The first step recommends the kind of bean
and type or size of cup (see table). Confirm
this step with Start (22). All further steps
must also be confirmed with Start (22).
Light bean type, e.g. Café Crème beans
Dark bean type, e.g. Espresso beans
Small cup, e.g. Espresso cup
Medium-sized cup, e.g. coffee or Cappuccino cup
Large cup, e.g. mug or bowl
Large glass, e.g. Latte Macchiato glass

General process description
When you are asked to froth milk, press the
Start key and the machine heats up to prepare
steam. When the temperature display lights
up, place a receptacle with milk under the Easy
Cappuccino and turn open the valve (16).
When the milk is frothy enough, shut off the
steam supply valve (16) and confirm with Start.
In order to discharge any remaining steam in
the heating system, you will now be asked to
vent the machine. Place a different receptacle
under the milk frother (14). Open the steam/hot
water valve (16) until water comes out. Then
close the valve (16) completely and confirm
with Start.
When you asked to prepare coffee or espresso,
place a cup under the coffee outlet (12) and
confirm again with Start (22).

Setting functions
13.1 Water hardness (see page 34)
It is important to set the right water hardness
to protect the coffeemaker from lime scale.
Proceed as follows:
½ Turn the function controller (20) to "F
and confirm with Start (22).
½ Keep on pressing the selection keys (19)
until "Water Hardness" is selected; then
press Start (22).
½ Use the selection keys (19) to set your water
hardness and confirm with Start (22).
½ The setting is stored and you are returned
to the main menu.
Find out from your local water supplier about
the water hardness level in your area.
13.2 Time
Proceed as follows to set the time:
½ Turn the function controller (20) to "F"
and confirm with Start (22).
½ Keep on pressing the selection keys (19)
until "Time" is selected; then press Start (22)
to confirm.
½ Use the selection keys (19) to set the time
and confirm with Start (22).
½ The setting is stored and you are returned
to the main menu.
13.3 Auto-On time
The appliance has a fitted timer. You can
individually set the Auto-On time. When the
programmed Auto-On time is reached, the
appliance automatically switches itself on.
½ Turn the function controller (20) to "F"
and confirm with Start (22).
½ Keep on pressing the selection keys (19)
until "Auto on" is selected; then press
Start (22).
½ Select either "On" or "Off" and confirm with
Start (22).
½ If "Off" is selected you are returned to the
main menu.
½ If you have selected "On", set the desired
time (19) and confirm with Start (22).
½ The setting is stored and you are returned
to the main menu.
13.4 Auto-Off time
The machine shuts itself down after an
individually set time. The Auto-Off time is
started after the last machine action. When
the time is up, a rinsing cycle is carried out,
the brewing chamber is put into the rest
position and the machine shuts itself down
automatically.
½ Turn the function controller (20) to
"F" and confirm with Start (22).
½ Keep on pressing the selection keys (19)
until "Auto off" is selected; then press
Start (22).
½ Use the selection keys (19) to set the desired
time and confirm with Start (22). An Auto-
Off time of between 5 minutes and 6 hours
can be selected.
½ The setting is stored and you are returned
to the main menu.
13.5 Service

½ Turn the function controller (20) to
"F" and confirm with Start (22).
½ Keep on pressing the selection keys (19)

½ By confirming with Start again, you are
returned to the main menu.
