Wear strong work gloves when removing and reassembling the blade.
Check the blade's balance after sharpening.
Check the self-closing guard and grass-catcher frequently for wear and deterioration.
Whenever the machine is to be handled, transported or tilted you must:
-Wear strong working gloves;
-Grasp the machine at the points that offer a safe grip, taking account of the weight
and its distribution.
Blade
The blade is made of forged steel. To obtain good cutting quality, you must sharpen it
approximately every 25 hours of mowing or more regularly if your land has stones or
mounds of earth (molehill).
If you do not have the skills to sharpen the blade of your mower, we advise you to go to
an approved after-sales service workshop.
If you feel vibrations on the mower, you must have your blade balanced in a workshop
approved by WM France. An unbalanced blade causes vibrations which can damage the
structure of the mower.
The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for use with an unbalanced blade.
Inspection
Tilt the mower to the right, so the air cleaner side is up. This will help to prevent fuel
leakage and hard starting.
Inspect the blade for damage, cracks and excessive rust or corrosion.
A dull blade can be sharpened, but a blade that is excessively worn, bent, cracked, or
otherwise damaged must be replaced.
Check that the blade bolts are tight.
TO DISASSEMBLE THE BLADE
It is essential to disconnect the spark plug to avoid accidental starting of the engine.
Put on protective gloves.
Tilt the mower, ALWAYS towards the exhaust pipe.
Hold the blade firmly with one hand and unscrew the blade retaining screw with the other
hand: it is unscrewed counterclockwise. The direction of rotation is stamped on the blade.
Check the blade holder and change parts if they are worn or damaged.
