Variant 1:
The brake cables are routed inside the
handlebar and stem into the headset.
6.
Now fit the Ahead cap (3) and use it to adjust the bearing play. Please note that the Ahead screw (2) is only used to adjust the
bearing play. It is not included in the scope of delivery. With the stem clamp bolts loosened, only tighten them so firmly that
no bearing play is noticeable when the front wheel wobbles back and forth with the brake applied. For correct adjustment of
the bearing play, be sure to follow the assembly instructions for your fork and headset.
7.
Then click the cover cap (1) into the stem so that you hear it click into place.
8.
Then tighten the steerer clamp bolts alternately in small steps up to the specified torque of 8 Nm, unless otherwise limited by
the fork steerer tube, for example, and then check the stem manually to ensure that it is not twisted. The cover cap (1) should
be lightly clamped.
9.
To mount the handlebar, unscrew the stem clamp completely. Make sure your handlebars have the correct clamping diameter
of 31.8 mm and a clamping range of at least 50 mm! Now insert the handlebars into the stem in the middle.
10. Then tighten the four screws of the clamp alternately in small steps up to the specified torque of 8 Nm, unless otherwise limited
by the handlebar.
If your stem does not come with any information on the torque and tightening sequence, please contact your SQlab dealer.
Warning
Tightening torque outside the specified range
Risk of falling due to sudden and unmediated breakage of the handlebar due to deformation or necking
Observe the specified tightening torque of the stem clamp in the operating instructions belonging to the stem.
Never exceed the maximum tightening torque of 8 Nm. In the event of a conflict in the specifications of the tightening torque,
please contact your specialist dealer.
Warning
Riding with one or more loose bolts in the stem
The stem can be damaged or slip so badly that it can no longer be used safely
After 20-50 km and at least every 3 months thereafter, check the screw tightening torque of the clamping screws on the stem
for the correct torque and retighten them if necessary.
When checking the tightening torque, also make sure not to exceed the maximum tightening torque.
Never ride with a loose stem.
Variant 2:
The brake cables are routed inside the
handlebar and stem from above into
the steerer tube and headset.
Variant 3:
The brake cables are routed outside the
handlebars into the inside of the stem
into the headset.
