Protecting settings with code numbers
You can prevent unauthorised persons from changing the basic settings of your
telephone. To do this you can bar access to the appropriate menu items with two
code numbers (PINs).
– For the mobile unit e. g. bell volume and quicktalk.
– For the base station e.g. dialling bar.
Both PINs are set to "0000" when delivered. You can select all menu items and any
other user from every mobile unit with this PIN.
Commit your PIN to memory and write it down if necessary.
There is no way of finding out forgotten PINs.
The unit will have to be replaced.
PIN for your mobile unit
The mobile unit settings such as bell volume and quicktalk only concern the corre-
sponding mobile unit. These special settings and functions are protected by a PIN
(mobile unit PIN) (menu items 11–20).
– The mobile unit PIN is requested every time before you can scroll to the protected
menu items.
– Every mobile unit may have a different mobile unit PIN.
PIN for your base station
The base station settings such as dialling bar affect all logged in mobile units. These
special settings and functions are protected by a second PIN (base PIN) (menu
items 21–38).
The base PIN is also requested when a mobile unit logs onto your base station.
This prevents unauthorised mobile units using your base station at your expense.
– The base PIN is requested every time before you can scroll to the protected menu
items.
– This PIN should only be known to one responsible person so that not everyone
can change these settings.
– The base PIN always applies for all logged on mobile units.
