If you want to fry at the table, please note
that splashes of fat can damage the ta-

5. How to use
5.1 Unpacking
• Remove all packing material.
• Check to ensure that all parts are pres-
ent and undamaged.
5.2 Assembling the lid
handle
1. Figure B: assemble the individual
parts for the lid handle 2 as shown.
Make sure that the upper plastic
ring 12 and the lower plastic ring 13
fit into each other.
2. Carefully tighten the screw 17 with a
Phillips screwdriver. The lid handle 2
must sit securely on the lid 3 without
wobbling.
NOTE: do not overtighten the screw 17 in
order to ensure that the glass lid 3 is not un-
der tension.

5.3 Switching on for the first
time
FIRE HAZARD!
Before switching on the device, place it
on a heat-resistant, flat and stable sur-
face.
The device must not be operated close
to flammable liquids or materials, or in
a potentially explosive environment.
Keep at a distance of at least 30 cm
from walls. In order to prevent overheat-
ing of the device or a potential fire, the
device must not be covered.
NOTE: when in operation for the first time,
some smoke and odour may be generated
by the device. This is related to materials
used on the heating elements during assem-
bly, and is not a product defect. Ensure ade-
quate ventilation. The device can be heated
up for the first time without the lid.
1. Clean the device prior to first
use!
2. Before connecting the device, make sure
that the thermostat control 9 is set to
OFF. The arrow on the temperature con-
trol light 10 must point to OFF.
3. Figure D: insert the plug with thermo-
stat 5 into the socket 6 as shown.
4. Insert the mains plug 4 into an earthed
wall socket corresponding to the specifi-
cations of the rating plate.
5. Turn the thermostat control 9 to tempera-
ture setting 5. The device heats up and
the temperature control light 10 is lit.
When the temperature setting is
reached, the light goes out.
6. Switch the device off after approx.
10 minutes by turning the thermostat
control 9 to OFF.
7. Pull out the mains plug 4.
8. Let the device cool down before mov-
ing, cleaning and storing it away.
