Selecting the location

Location
The selection of the infiltration system's location is critical to prevent water discharge from causing damage
to buildings or other installations. To mitigate the risks of erosion and accumulation, it is imperative that
infiltration systems be situated at a minimum distance of 1.5 times the trench depth, ensuring optimal func-
tionality and safeguarding against potential harm to surrounding structures.
In accordance with work sheet DWA A-138, it is mandated that the thickness of the ground between the
trench bed of the infiltration system and the anticipated average highest groundwater level should not be
less than one metre. In the event that this distance falls below the specified threshold, explicit approval
must be obtained from the relevant authorities, underscoring the significance of adherence to regulatory
standards.
Distance (A') to existing or planned trees must also be at least the expected crown diameter (A).
