2.6.2. Bonding with ceramic brackets
Thanks to the laser-structured base, discovery
brackets. The laser-structure secures the mechanical bond to the NO-MIX and MIX adhesives.
However, the base of the discovery
contaminated in any way, as this could otherwise detrimentally affect the bond.
The silanization process on the base of our Fascination
brackets in connection with the Orthodontic Bonding System supplies a very good chemical
bond. We recommend the MIX-adhesive when using Fascination
When using the Orthodontic Bonding System for ceramic brackets from other
manufacturers, please follow their instructions.
2.6.3. Bonding to crowns and fillings
Bonding to ceramic crowns requires the use of a ceramic primer such as Rely X™
Ceramic Primer from 3M™ Espe™.
Bonding to acrylic crowns does not require any special conditioning; if necessary, the special
primer (REF 163-500-00) for Elegance
Bonding to metal crowns requires roughening, e.g. using a MicroEtcher. Then apply, e.g. Assure
Bonding Resin from Reliance Orthodontic Products or Rely X™ Ceramic Primer from 3M™
Espe™.
Do not etch the crowns!
