generallyawarningof trouble.Seeanauthorized dealerif necessary f or
repairs.

Fuel Handling

WHENADDINGFUEL
* Turnoff engineandletcool at least2 minutesbeforeremoving the fuel
cap andaddingfuel.
o Fill fueltank outdoorsor ina well ventilated area.
o Donot overfillthe fuel tank.Toallowfor the expansion of gasoline,do notfill
abovethe bottomof the fuel tankneck.
o Keep fuel awayfromsparks,openflames,pilot lights, heat, a ndother
ignitionsources.
o Check fuel lines,cap,andfittings frequently for cracksor leaks.Replace if
necessary.
o Useanapprovedfuelcontainer.
o If fuelspills, wait until it evaporates b efore startingengine.
WHENSTARTING ENGINE
*, Ensure thatsparkplug, muffler, f uelcap, andair cleaner ( if equipped) a re in
placeandsecured.
. Donot crankthe enginewiththe sparkplug removed.
. If fuel is spilled,do not attempt t o starttheengine,but movethe snow
throwerawayfrom theareaof thespill, andavoidcreatinganysourceof
ignition,until the fuelvaporshavedissipated.
*, Donot over-prime the engine.Followthe enginestartinginstructionsin this
manual.
. If theenginefloods,setchoke(if equipped)to OPEN/RUN position,move
throttle(if equipped)to FAST positionandcrankuntil enginestarts.
WHENOPERATING EQUIPMENT
* Donot tip the snowthrower a t ananglewhichcausesthe fuelto spill.
. Donot chokethecarburetor t o stopthe engine.
. Neverrunthe enginewiththe air cleanerassembly (if equipped)or the air
filter (if equipped)removed.
WHENCHANGING OIL
* If you drainthe oil from the top oil fill tube,the fuel tankmustbeemptyor
fuel can leakout andresultin afire or explosion.
