3 - INSTALLATION
3.1 - ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS TO THE MAINS
IMPORTANT: BEFORE CONNECTING, PREPARING OR USING
EQUIPMENT, READ THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.
CAUTION: The installation of the power source must
meet all National and Local Codes and only qualified
persons can make this installation. The power supply
installation must be dimensioned regarding the characteristics of the
power source (especially concerning the maximum consumed
current).
This equipment does not comply with IEC 61000-3-12. If it is
connected to a public low voltage system, it is the responsibility of
the installer or user of the equipment to ensure, by consultation with
the distribution network operator if necessary, that the equipment
may be connected.
This Class A equipment is not intended for use in residential
locations where the electrical power is provided by the public low-
voltage supply system. There may be potential difficulties in ensuring
electromagnetic compatibility in those locations, due to conducted
as well as radiated disturbances.
3.2 - CONNECTING INPUT POWER
The FLEX LINE circuitry in this unit automatically adapts the power source
to the primary voltage being applied. Check input voltage available at site.
This unit can be connected to the following power supplies: 230 V single
phase or 230/400 V three phases without removing cover to re-link the
power source.
WARNING: WITH POWER SUPPLY 230 V-1PH, NEED TO CONNECT
TO THE CEE PLUG OF THE PRIMARY CABLE OF THE UNIT, THE
1 PH ADAPTER PROVIDED AS STANDARD (FIG.1).
SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT MAY RESULT IF THE POWER
SOURCE IS SWITCHED OFF DURING WELDING OPERATION.
Check that the power socket is equipped with the fuse indicated in the
rating plate (see effective consumption) of the power source. The power
source is designed to compensate power supply variations. For variations
of +\-10% a welding current variation of +\-0,2% is expected.

3.3 - HANDLING AND TRANSPORTING
THE POWER SOURCE
THE WELDING POWER SOURCE DO NOT WEIGHT MORE THAN
25 KG AND CAN BE HANDLED BY THE OPERATOR.
READ WELL THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS.
The machine is easy to lift, transport and handle, though the following
procedures must always be observed:
1 - The operations mentioned above can be operated by the
handle of the power source.
2 - Always disconnect the power source and accessories from
main supply before lifting or handling operations.
3 - Do not drag, pull or lift equipment by the cables.
3.4 - POSITIONING AND LOCATION OF THE MACHINE
Place the machine on a firm, dry and level surface. When possible, do not
allow dust or other impurities (moisture, oil, steam, corrosive gases) to
enter the machine cooling air flow. Preferably site the machine above floor
level, for example on a suitable carriage unit.
Notes for positioning the machine:
ܟEnsure the free circulation of the cooling air; there must be at
least 300 mm of free space in front of and behind the machine
for cooling air to circulate.
ܟThe surface inclination should not exceed 15 degrees.
ܟProtect the machine against heavy rain and direct sunshine.
ܟSince the inhalation of welding fumes can be harmful, ensure
the welding area is effectively ventilated.
