® To listen to an FM Broadcast
Set the DUBBING SPEED/FM MODE/BEAT selector @) to the
STEREO ( I ) position and tune in the stereo broadcast so that
the FM STEREO indicator light. If there is a lot of noise, set the
DUBBING SPEED/FM MODE/BEAT selector @® to the MONO
( <4 ) position. In this case, the broadcast is heard in monaural
form and the FM STEREO indicator @ dose not light.
To listen to a cassette tape
Use normal tape. If you use some other type, sound quality may be
poor.
8 Single play
Both decks A and B work exactly the same way. For playback
of deck A:
Press the POWER switch @ to turn on the power.
Set the FUNCTION selector @ to "TAPE".
Load the cassette tape in deck A and close the door.
Press the deck A PLAY button ® .
Adjust the VOLUME @ and GRAPHIC EQUALIZER @ con-
trols as desired.
To stop playback before the end of the cassette, press the deck
A STOP/EJECT button @ .
7. Press the REW button @O when you wish to wind the tape
rapidly backward.
8. Press the FF button @) when you wish to wind the tape rapidly
forward.
9. Turn off the power by pressing the POWER switch 8 again.

@ When the end of the tape is reached during playback, recording,
fast forward or rewind the automatic stop function will stop
tape transport and the depressed tape transport button will
return to the up position. In this case, the cassette must be
turned over to continue playback or recording.
@ Don't activate deck A (deck B) when deck B (deck A) is in the
playback mode, If activated, the rotating speed of the motor
may be disturbed to case unsound playback.
® Continuous play
(Deck A to Deck B)
Press the POWER switch @ to turn on the power.
Set the FUNCTION selector @) to' TAPE".
Load cassette tapes in deck A and B and close the doors,
Press the deck A PLAY button @ . (Play begins)
Press the deck B PAUSE button ® and then press the deck
B PLAY button @ (Enters pause mode)
Adjust the VOLUME @ and GRAPHIC EQUALIZER @ con-
trols as desired.
9. Turn off the power by pressing the POWER switch @ again.

@® Playback of deck B begins automatically immediately after
playback of the cassette in deck A has ended.
Note:
® Do not turn off the power when either PLAY button is pressed
since the pinch rollers could be damaged and sound quality
deteriorate as a result.
To listen to a compact disc
® 8cm compact disc can be used without 8cm compact disc
adaptor.
® Do not close the disc tray manually while the POWER switch (3)
is turned "OFF".
= Manual Play (Standard Play)

Press the POWER switch @ to turn on the power.

When the disc tray is closed, with a disc put in, display "O00
00:00' flashes if total number of track and total playing time
are being read.
@ |f neither number of total tracks nor total time is read. Because
of absence of disc in the disc tray, a disc placed in reverse, or
a dirty or flawed disc, display ''0000:00" flashes for 14 sec
and ''diISC"' appears.
@ To open the disc tray during play, first press the STOP button
® to stop the disc. Then, press the OPEN/CLOSE button @ .
@® Bumping into the player or excessive vibration while a disc is
playing can cause skips and distortion in the music.
® The disc tray cannot be opened while the player is playing a disc
even if the OPEN/CLOSE button @) is pressed. To open the
disc tray, first press the STOP button ® to make the player
stop playing, and then press the OPEN/CLOSE button @ .
Either in the following cases, the disc tray cannot be opened
even if the OPEN/CLOSE button @ is pressed. Wait until the
display '"O0000:00" ceases flashing, then press the OPEN/CLOSE
button @ . The disc tray will open.
1. In case that the POWER switch @ is turned on while the
FUNCTION selector @ has been set to "CD".
2. In case that the FUNCTION selector @) is set to "CD" from
another position.
3. tn case that the display ""O000:00" is still flashing.
= Repeat Play
Select the REPEAT mode by pressing the REPEAT button @®
Each press of button commutes mode in order of REPEAT .
REPEAT [ALU and non REPEAT mode.
1. REPEAT [1] mode:
The track on display is repeatedly played.
The REPEAT (1] indicator lights.
2. REPEAT {ALU mode:
All tracks are repeatedly played. In the PROGRAM play all
tracks programmed are repeatedly played.
The REPEAT [ALL] indicator lights.
= To Move to a Specific Track (Standard Play)
To locate the beginning of a track
1. To skip to the beginning of a next track:
Press the UP button . Play will be interrupted and the
player will skip to the beginning of the next track and resume
-playing.
The player will skip forward one track every time you press
the UP button @ . And if press the UP button @ when playing
the last track, UP button € does not function.
2. To skip to the beginning of the current or previous track:
Press the DOWN button @® . Play will be interrupted and the
player will return to the beginning of the current track. After
that the player will skip backward one track every time you
press the DOWN button
