1: Mains socket
Connect the power cable supplied to this socket.
2: ON/OFF
Use the ON/OFF switch to turn the device on and
off.
3: USB UPDATE
The USB UPDATE port must only be used to
update the product firmware, if necessary.
Refer to the 'Firmware update' section for more
information.
4: USB
The USB port allows you to connect a digital
audio source (computer, etc.) using a USB 2.0
Type B cable.
5: TOSLINK
The TOSLINK socket is an optical connector
that allows you to connect a digital audio source
(Digital Audio Player, etc.) using a digital optical
cable.
The signal can be a stereo PCM signal up to
192kHz.
6: COAX
The COAX socket is a connector that allows you
to connect a digital source using a digital audio
coaxial cable.
The signal can be a stereo PCM signal up to
192kHz.
7: LEFT – RIGHT
The LEFT – RIGHT sockets are connectors that
allow you to connect an analogue source using
analogue coaxial audio cables.
8: RIGHT – LEFT OUTPUT
The XLR sockets are balanced audio connectors
that route the audio signal once it has been
converted to analogue format.
These sockets also allow you to use Arche as a
digital-to-analogue audio converter. The audio
signal of the digital input source (either USB/
TOSLINK/COAX) will be routed to the digital-
to-analogue converter to then be transferred
to analogue audio outputs 8 and 9 in analogue
stereo format.
We recommend using this output to achieve the
best possible performance. The output level is
driven by the rotary potentiometer.
We recommend setting the output level at 99
and then checking the sound level using the
external amplifier.
9: RIGHT – LEFT OUTPUT
