INSTALLING THE CHAIN AND GUIDE PLATE (Fig. 4 - 6)
(for Pole pruner ITKS 800)
1. Place the chain in the guidance groove of the guide
plate. Ensure the cutting direction is correct. There
are arrows on the chain; these must match the arrows
on the housing to ensure that the chain is mounted
correctly.
2. Secure the chain and guide plate. Place the chain
around the drive wheel and place the guide plate on
the device. Ensure that the chain adjuster locates in
the hole of the guide plate.
3. Now place the cover back on and pull the chain tight.
4. Do not yet tighten the fastening screw completely.
5. Tension the chain so that a maximum of 2 mm can be

REPLACING THE SAW CHAIN (Fig. 4 - 6)
(for Pole pruner ITKS 800)
The saw chain has extremely sharp saw teeth. Therefore,
it is essential that you wear gloves when handling the
saw chain.
1. Loosen the chain until it hangs down loosely. To do this,
use the multi-tool provided. Insert it into the Allen head
screw of the chain adjuster.
2. Turn the screw anticlockwise until the chain is loose.
3. Now remove the cover. Loosen the hexagon nut and
then the spring washer. Now remove the plastic hous-
ing and lift the chain and the guide plate from the
device. After removing the guide plate and the chain,
remove the chain from the guide plate and lay it to
one side.
GB | Operating Instructions
Clean the groove of the guide plate with a suitable tool or
blow it clean using compressed air. In particular, ensure
that the oil opening in the guide plate is clear. Check the
chain guide for its degree of wear and, if necessary, sand
it down carefully using a file and sand paper. If the guide
plate is so worn in any place that a repair is not possible,
it must be replaced. The guide plate can be ordered from
the manufacturer.
TENSIONING THE CHAIN (Fig. 8)
The chain must not be too loose. It must be able to be
lifted approx. 2-3 millimetres off the guide plate. Use the
chain adjuster to tension the chain. Always remove the
plug from the socket immediately before you carry out
maintenance tasks on the device. The Allen key screw of
the chain adjuster is on the front of the saw attachment,
next to the guide plate. Turning in a clockwise direction
tightens the chain, turning in an anticlockwise direction
loosens the chain. Pay attention to the sharp cutting teeth
of the saw chain.
