Motor and ESC Removal
Note: The information on this page is for maintenance of the
F4F Wildcat. Damage to these parts can result from aircraft
crashes. Installation of the motor is in reverse order of the steps
listed below. You must remove the propeller from the motor
before removing the cowl and motor from the aircraft.
CAUTION: DO NOT handle the motor or ESC while the
flight battery is connected to the ESC. Personal injury
could result.
1. Remove three (3) screws from the cowl.
2. Carefully remove the cowl from the fuselage.
Note: The paint on the painted fuselage may keep the cowl on
the fuselage after the screws are removed.
3. Remove four (4) screws from the motor mount and the
fuselage.
4. Remove the three (3) motor wire connectors from the ESC
wire connectors (wire colors are aligned between the motor and
the ESC).
5. Remove four (4) screws from the motor mount and motor.
6. Disconnect wires for the ESC in the fuselage. Remove the
ESC.
