MAINTENANCE
It is imperative to rinse your bar with clear water after each use. Make sure to rinse the chicken loop safety
mechanism in both the open and closed positions. This allows you to check its proper functioning before
each session and familiarize yourself with its operation.
For your safety, inspect your lines before each use of the bar. Ensure there are no knots, as they could
compromise the strength of the lines. The lines of your kite bar, the pigtails, and all parts are replaceable and
can be ordered on the GONG-GALAXY.COM website.
Regular maintenance of your bar will extend its lifespan and contribute to a safer and more enjoyable
kitesurfing experience. For any questions regarding the maintenance or use of your GONG kite bar, contact
our customer service.
SAFETY AND COMMON WATER SENSE
❶ - Check the wind range of your kite and adapt it to your actual abilities. Never underestimate the pulling force
of your kite. Even a beginner's kite can develop significant and uncontrollable traction force.
❷ - When practicing, stay informed about weather forecasts and the configuration of your spot (side, offshore,
or onshore wind). Be cautious in strong wind conditions, especially in gusty conditions. Do not use your
kite in offshore winds unless you have water safety. Ideal conditions for kitesurfing are cross-shore winds
and a steady wind force of 15-25 knots.
❸ - For your initial sessions and when you are not yet familiar with wind ranges and conditions: be vigilant in
high wind conditions and don't go out if you don't have the appropriate kite for the wind range. You are
taking risks for yourself and the equipment.
❹ - Use your kite in a secure environment. Take the necessary time to learn how to handle the equipment under
optimal safety conditions.
❺ - Do not overestimate your abilities. Ensure that you are in good physical condition and have no medical
contraindications. Improper use can cause serious injuries or lead to the death of the practitioner or others.
❻ - Do not use your kite in shore breaks or excessively powerful waves.
❼ - When navigating, constantly monitor the water to avoid collisions or violations of maritime priority rules.
Keep in mind that you are potentially dangerous to yourself and others.
❽ - Exercise extreme caution if you kite with a board equipped with a foil. GONG SUP 1 disclaims any
responsibility for damage or injury caused by inappropriate use of the kite or negligence.
❾ - GONG strongly advises you to take out insurance covering kite practice.
❿ - Equip yourself with protective gear: helmet, leash, impact vest... It's better to have too much than too little!
⓫ - The use of the kite outside the marine environment is your responsibility (skate, ski, snow...).
⓬ - The kite is not a parachute or a hang glider!
⓭ - When using your kite, always use common sense, respect nature, and try to help others with caution when
they are in difficulty.
⓮ - All our kites are equipped with an identification label for you to fill in your details in accordance with
applicable legislation.
This list of recommendations is not exhaustive and does not replace a thorough understanding and study of
safety and navigation rules at sea. Foiling, in particular, is a dangerous sport that requires careful consideration
and expertise.
