ENGINE OIL FILTER CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT
Follow the procedure below :
IMPORTANT
Carry out the operation with the engine
off. Ignition key removed, wait at least
6 minutes before disconnecting the
negative battery cable.
1 - Carry out the operations when the
engine is cold.
2 - Prepare a container under the filter to
collect any leak.
3 - Unscrew the cartridge (A) with suitable
standard wrench and replace it. Clean the
surface of the support in contact with the
oil cartridge with a clean, lint-free cloth.
4 - Lubricate with engine oil the seal of the
new cartridge (B) before assembling it.
5 - Assemble the new oil cartridge and
manually tighten it until it locks.
IMPORTANT
Check the oil cartridge tightening using
a torque wrench calibrated at Nm 12.7.
If necessary, contact the manufacturer
of the vehicle in which the engine is
installed or a workshop authorised by
VM MOTORI STELLANTIS EUROPE.
6 - Turn the engine on and keep it running
at idle speed for approx. five minutes at
a temperature of 70°C - 80°C (158°F -
176°F).
7 - Turn off the engine and remove the
ignition key.

8 - Wait for a few minutes so that all the oil
flows into the sump.
9 - Check the correct oil level and, if
necessary, top it up (see "Engine oil level
check" on page 54).
10 - Start the engine, leave it at idle
speed and with no applied loads, check
for any oil leaks and the oil pressure (see
technical data table on page 15).
11 - Turn off the engine at the end of the
check.
