DEF FLUID INJECTION SYSTEM - MAIN COMPONENTS
- Dosing Control Unit DCU box (fig.1):
this device supplies DEF fluid to the
GB
injector. The amount supplied is regulated
by the electronic engine management
system. The unit consists of:
- Calotta tappo (A)
- Filter (B)
- Pump (C)
- DEF tank (fig.2): contains the DEF fluid.
It consists of:
- Filling plug (usually blue)
- Internal filter
- DEF fluid level sensor
- DEF fluid temperature sensor
- DEF fluid quality sensor
- DEF fluid supply lines (fig.3):
The supply lines are normally supplied by
the manufacturer of the vehicle in which
the engine is installed and approved by
VM MOTORI STELLANTIS EUROPE.
- DEF injector:
it injects the DEF fluid towards the SCR
catalyst using a mixer that allows an
optimal fluid distribution.
