HANDLING THE DEF FLUID
- Observe the instructions given in
the safety data sheet issued by the
manufacturer of the DEF fluid. Handling
must be carried out according to the
provisions of standard ISO 22241 - 3.
STORING THE DEF FLUID
- Comply with the technical specifications
and recommendations prescribed by the
manufacturer of the DEF fluid.
- Use only the tanks and containers
recommended by the manufacturer of the
DEF fluid.
IMPORTANT
- Tanks and containers made of
aluminium, copper, copper alloys,
non-alloy steel, galvanised steel are
not suitable for use, as the components
of these metals can detach and
irreparably damage the exhaust gas
after-treatment system. Containers
made of polymers (e.g. polyethylene,
propylene and polyoxymethylene) are
suitable up to a temperature of 60°C
(140°F).
- It is essential to avoid direct sunlight
and UV radiation on stored tanks and
containers.
- The temperature of the stored DEF
fluid affects the minimum storage time
without the risk of alteration: average
storage temperature of 25°C (77°F)
with maximum peak not exceeding
30°C (86°F): 12 months, 35°C (95°F): 6
months.
DISPOSAL OF THE DEF FLUID
- Dispose of the DEF fluid according to local regulations.
English
- Use only the specific instruments
recommended by the manufacturer of the
DEF fluid.
- Do not contaminate the DEF fluid during
handling.
IMPORTANT
- Check the product before use.
- To avoid malfunctions to the exhaust
gas after-treatment system, always keep
the DEF fluid pure.
- Do not dilute and do not mix the DEF
fluid with other liquids.
- Do not pour the DEF liquid that has
been pumped, for example during a
repair, back into the storage tank.
- DEF fluid impurities, generated by other
liquids, powders, detergents cause:
- Higher emission values.
- Exhaust gas treatment system
malfunctions.
- Damage to the catalytic converter
(DOC).
- Damage to engine.
