Speed Selector (fig. I)
Your tool is equipped with a speed selector (5) which allows
you to select one of three modes. Select the mode based on
the application and control the speed of the tool using the
variable speed trigger switch (1) .
Use
Warning! Let the tool work at its own pace. Do not overload.
Selecting the direction of rotation (fig. J)
For tightening, use forward (clockwise) rotation. For loosening,
use reverse (counterclockwise) rotation.
To select forward rotation, push the forward/reverse
u
slider (2) to the left.
To select reverse rotation, push the forward/reverse slider
u
to the right.
To lock the tool, set the forward/reverse slider into the
u
centre position.
Screwdriving / nut setting
Select the appropriate bit / socket for the screw or nut to
u
be driven.
Select forward or reverse rotation as described above.
u
Hold the tool in line with the fastener.
u
Press the trigger (1)
u
After tightening, check torque with a torque wrench.
u
LED work lights
There are three worklights (6) located around the chuck
collar (3). The worklights are activated when the trigger switch
is depressed. When the trigger is released, the worklight will
stay illuminated for up to 20 seconds.
Note: The worklights are for lighting the immediate work
surface and are not intended to be used as a flashlight.
Hints for optimum use
Screwdriving
Always use the correct type and size of screwdriver bit.

If screws are difficult to tighten, try applying a small
u
amount of washing liquid or soap as a lubricant.
Always hold the tool and screwdriver bit in a straight line
u
with the screw.
Maintenance
Your STANLEY FATMAX tool has been designed to operate
over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool
care and regular cleaning.
Your charger does not require any maintenance apart from
regular cleaning.

remove the battery from the tool. Unplug the charger before
cleaning it.
Regularly clean the ventilation slots in your tool and

charger using a soft brush or dry cloth.
Regularly clean the motor housing using a damp cloth. Do

not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner.
Regularly open the chuck and tap it to remove any dust
u
from the interior.

normal household waste.
