General Safety Warnings and
Instructions for Battery-Pow‐
ered Products
This section contains the general safety warn‐
ings and instructions for battery-powered prod‐
ucts contained in UL 2595 / CSA C22.2 No. 0.23.
WARNING
■ Read all safety warnings and instructions.
■ Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire, explosion
and/or serious injury or property damage.
■ Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the trig‐
ger switch is in the off-position before inserting
the activation key, picking up or carrying the
blower. Carrying the blower with your finger on
the trigger switch or inserting the activation
key with the trigger switch engaged increases
the likelihood of unintended starting and possi‐
ble accidents.
■ Remove the activation key from the blower
before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the
blower accidentally.
■ Recharge only with the charger specified by
STIHL. A charger that is suitable for one type
of power tool may create a risk of fire when
used with another power tool.
■ Use the blower only with the integrated bat‐
tery. Use of any other battery may create a
risk of fire or explosion and personal injury or
property damage.
■ When the power tool is not in use, make sure
that paper clips, coins, keys, nails and other
similar metal objects are not stored near the
blower's charging socket, activation key socket
or other openings. Short circuiting the blower's
battery or charging system may cause burns
or a fire or explosion.
■ Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejec‐
ted from the battery; avoid contact. If contact
accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid
contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help.
Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irri‐
tation, chemical burns or respiratory illness
from inhalation.
■ Do not use a blower that is damaged or modi‐
fied. A damaged or modified blower or integra‐
ted battery may exhibit unpredictable behavior

resulting in fire, explosion and risk of injury or
property damage.
■ Do not expose the blower or its integrated bat‐
tery to fire or excessive temperature. Expo‐
sure to fire or temperatures above 212 °F
(100 °C) may cause fire and explosion.
■ Follow all charging instructions and do not
charge the integrated battery outside of the
ambient temperature range specified. Charg‐
ing improperly or outside the specified range
may damage the battery and increase the risk
of fire.
■ Have servicing performed by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts.
■ Do not modify or attempt to repair the blower
or the integrated battery. Follow the instruc‐
tions for use and care.
