8 HANDLING (FIG. 4)
The tanks and the collectors come packed in expanded
polystyrene frames and stretch fi lms, where they must
remain during all transportation and storage. The col-
lectors must be transported in vertical position, in or-
der to avoid any damage. During installation keep the
collector covered until the closed circuit is fi lled with
thermal fl uid.
For the handling of the solar boiler it is always recom-
mended to use a lifting crane.
0
Do not lift the solar collector by its water fi ttings.
0
Do not lift the storage cylinder by its water fi ttings.
0
Wear suitable personal protective equipment and
use suitable safety devices.

9 PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION (FIG. 7)
Select the best possible orientation for the solar collec-
tors (ideally facing south). Avoid positions that are shad-
ed by plants, trees, buildings or hills, etc. during the day.
Maintain the minimum distance (A) between the system
and the edge of the roof.
Remove all gravel and detritus from the surface on which
the system is to be installed.
The mounting kit must not be used to install other su-
perstructures. It is designed only for use with our solar
water heating systems.
The installation of a solar water heating system modifi es
the existing structure of the roof. Verify the suitability of
all roof elements and if necessary adapt them to avoid
leaks or damage by wind and/or snow loads.
