means of the menu keys. After defining the desired
position, return to the TITLE menu via the middle
key

8.3 Line SENSE UP – increase of light sensitivity
In case of a very poor illumination, the sensitivity of
the camera can be increased. With the selected menu
item "SENSE UP", use the keys
select AUTO X2, AUTO X4, AUTO X6, AUTO X8,
AUTO X12, AUTO X24, AUTO X32, AUTO X48,
AUTO X64, or OFF (no increase of sensitivity). For
this purpose, the shutter time is increased in such a
way that the exposure time spans several pictures
(frame integration). Thus, "SENSE UP" takes priority
over a manually selected shutter time.
The "SENSE UP" function is not available if a wide
dynamic range is selected, e. g. if "WDR = ON" is
selected in the "ALC" submenu (see chapter 8.4.2)!
8.4 Line ALC/ELC – automatic exposure control
Via this menu item, different methods for controlling
the exposure can be selected.
With the menu item "ALC/ELC" selected, use the
buttons
(2) and
(5) to select either "ELC..." or
"ALC...". Press the middle key

8.4.1 ELC mode
The ELC mode automatically controls the picture
brightness by changing the shutter time. If a lens
with iris control is connected, the iris is completely
opened. In case of too much light, the shutter time is
reduced. There is an improved recognition of rapid
movement, however, with open iris, the depth of
focus is reduced. According to the manufacturer, this
mode is rather suited for industrial and scientific ap-
plications than for surveillance purposes.
