Operation
Stopping the Mower
1. Stop forward motion of the mower by releasing the
blade control approximately two inches (5 cm).
2. Stop the engine and blade by completely releasing
the blade control.
Handle Height Adjustment
WARNING
!
DO NOT attempt any maintenance, adjustments or service
with engine and blade running. STOP engine and blade.
Remove starter insert. Disconnect spark plug wire and
secure away from spark plug. Engine and components are
HOT. Avoid serious burns, allow sufficient time for all com-
ponents to cool.
For greater operator comfort, the height of the mower
handle can be adjusted.
1. Remove the knobs (A, Figure 8) and bolts from
the right and left handle brackets (B).
2. To raise the handle, mount the lower handle (C) in
the high position (D).
3. To lower the handle, mount the lower handle in the
low position (E).
4. Attach the lower handle to the handle brackets with
the bolts and knobs removed in Step 1.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Remove starter insert. Disconnect spark plug wire and
secure away from spark plug. Engine and components are
HOT. Avoid serious burns, allow sufficient time for all com-
ponents to cool.
Pull the cutting height adjust lever (A, Figure 9)
outward, and move to the desired cutting height.
The highest cutting position is Notch 7, and the
lowest cutting position is Notch 1 (Figure 10).
Make sure each adjust lever is in the same posi-
tion so that the mower will cut level.
