5.1. Call a saved telephone number after
the button has been pressed
The direct call buttons on Behnke's Series 5
Intercom stations can be set to call a telephone
number. To do so, go to the respective configu-
ration step (direct call button 1 = configuration
step code 21, ..., direct call button 2 = configura-
tion step code 22) to enter and save the desired
telephone number. Then your Behnke Series
5 Intercom station will call the number saved
for the respective direct call button after it has
been pressed.
Please note:
▸
In case no telephone number was assigned
to a direct call button, pressing this direct call
button will result in the intercom station pick-
ing up and hanging up immediately followed
by an error tone.
▸
Via configuration step code 04 you may set a
minimal amount of time, a direct call button
needs to be pressed for activation to make
the call to the number saved.
▸
The integrated voice message option allows
you to record different voice messages via
configuration step code 58. These recorded
messages can either be played while estab-
lishing a connection to the remote station or
after the remote station has picked up the
call. (Using this option requires an additional
15 V +/- power supply.)

5.2. Calling a Behnke Series 5 Intercom
station
To call a Behnke Series 5 Intercom station,
simply dial the telephone number of the exten-
sion the Behnke intercom station is connected
to. As soon as the Behnke intercom station
recognises the call, it will answer automatically
and establish a connection.
Please note:
▸
Via configuration step code 03, you may
choose in which way a call will be answered.
If set to manual connection, a direct call
button needs to be pressed in order to estab-
lish a connection.
5.3. Open the front door from the inside
During a connected voice call, the relay may
be activated to open the door via a telephone
using DTMF dialling. To activate the relay, hence
to open the door, dial 0 followed by the # key
from your telephone with DTMF dialling. The
door will be opened and the connection will be
terminated.
Please note:
▸
Via configuration step code 08 you may
choose the operations mode for the relay. In
order for the relay to open the door, a suitable
operations mode needs to be set, e.g. opera-
tions mode 4.
▸
Via configuration step code 09, you may
choose the activation interval for the relay,
i.e. the amount of time (in seconds) the relay
will open the door.
