ly tightened so that the device is in a safe working
condition.
• Do not try to repair the device yourself unless you
have been trained to do so. All work that is not spec-
ified in this manual may only be carried out by cus-
tomer service centres authorised by us.
• Handle your device with care. Keep tools clean in or-
der to be able to work better and more safely. Follow
the maintenance instructions.

Electrical safety:
m Caution! To avoid accidents and injuries due to
electric shock:
• Before each use, visually inspect the mains and ex-
tension cables for signs of damage or ageing.
• Keep the mains cable away from the sweeping tools.
If the lead is damaged during use, disconnect it from
the mains immediately.
Do not touch the lead until it is disconnected
from the mains.
• Keep the extension leads away from the tines. The
tines can damage the leads and lead to contact with
active parts.
• Do not connect a damaged lead to the mains and
do not touch a damaged lead until it is disconnected
from the mains. A damaged lead can lead to contact
with active parts.
• Ensure that the mains voltage corresponds to the
specifications on the type plate.
• If possible, only connect the device to a socket outlet
with a residual current protective device (RCD) with
a tripping current of no more than 30 mA.
• Avoid body contact with earthed parts (e.g. metal
fences, metal posts).
• Only use approved extension cables of the type
H05VV-F or H05RN-F, which are no longer than 75
m and are intended for outdoor use. The conductor
core cross-section of the extension cable must be at
least 2.5 mm
. Always unroll a cable drum complete-
2
ly before use. Check the cable for damage.
• Use the intended cable strain relief for attaching the
extension cable.
• Do not use the cable to pull the plug out of the outlet.
Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.

6. Residual risks
Even when this power tool is operated properly,
residual risks still remain. The following hazards
may arise in connection with the design and con-
struction of this power tool:
1.
Hearing damage if suitable hearing protection is
not worn.
2.
Damage to health resulting from hand/arm vibra-
tion if the device is used over an extended period
of time or if it is not properly operated and main-
tained.
3.
Health hazard due to electrical power, with the use
of improper electrical connection cables.
4.
Furthermore, despite all precautions having been
met, some non-obvious residual risks may still re-
main.
5.
Residual risks can be minimised if the "Safety In-
structions" and the "Intended Use" together with
the operating manual as a whole are observed.
6.
Avoid accidental starting of the product: the oper-
ating button may not be pressed when inserting
the plug in a socket. Use the tool attachment that
is recommended in this operating manual. This is
how to ensure that your product provides optimum
performance.
7.
Keep your hands away from the working area
when the product is in operation.

juries, we recommend that persons with medical im-
plants consult with their physician and the manufactur-
er of the medical implant prior to operating the device.
