Summary Description
The RoomMatch
Utility RMU208 small-format sound reinforcement loudspeaker is intended for use in high-quality foreground music,
®
under-balcony, zone fill, and vocal-range floor monitor applications. The design features a single Bose EMB2 compression driver to
provide mid/high frequency voicing similar to that of RoomMatch full-range array modules. Dual 8-inch woofers provide full-range out-
put and a multi-angle enclosure increases mounting flexibility.
For surface-mount installations, the RMU208 loudspeaker includes a U-bracket that is attached to the loudspeaker using the M8
threaded inserts on each of the left and right enclosure surfaces.

Before You Begin – Recommended Tools
Caution: The RMU208 loudspeaker with U-bracket weighs 42 pounds (19.1 kg); use caution when lifting to avoid injury.
Caution: Do not place loudspeakers resting on grills.
To install the RMU208 loudspeaker with the included U-bracket, follow these steps:
1) Choose a mounting location that will safely support the weight of the loudspeaker.
2) Remove the RMU208 loudspeaker from the shipping carton, remove packing materials and place the loudspeaker on the floor
beneath the planned suspension point.
3) Mark the mounting holes by positioning the U-bracket (without loudspeaker attached) in the desired mounting position.
4) Choose fasteners to attach brackets to surface that are consistent with all local building codes and requirements to support the
loads depicted in Figure 3. As a general guideline, use 5/16" x 3" lag screws into wood and 5/16"-18 double expansion anchors into
concrete and masonry block.
5) Drill holes into mounting surface using previously marked positions.
6) Attach the U- bracket to the building surface using required fasteners as outlined in Step 4.
7) Lift the loudspeaker and position the M8 fasteners on each side of the enclosure in the slots on the side of the U-bracket.
See Figure 2 below.
8) Position the loudspeaker in the desired pitch angle.
9) Tighten the 2 bolts with socket tool using torque not to exceed 15 to 20 foot-pounds (21 to 28 Newton-meters).
10) Optionally, for more secure mounting of pitch angles, a wood screw may be inserted into the small hole in the side of the U-bracket
and tightened into the wood enclosure.
11) Connect field wiring, test loudspeaker operation.
