Turn on the PC that has the KaVo IXS installed and launch the imaging software,
such as VixWin Platinum (please refer to the software manual for information on the
software program).
1. Carefully plug the USB end of the sensor cable into the PC USB port. Do not
use force, ensure that the plug is properly oriented with the PC port. Try
rotating the USB plug if it does not easily insert into port. The USB
connector's Power Indicator LED turns green when device is receiving
power from the USB port.
CAUTION
Use extreme care when mounting the sensor inside a cabinet.
Pinching/crushing the sensor cord or USB Extension Cable can
damage the cord and cause image derogation or failure.
2. Set the required technical settings (exposure time, etc.) on the X-ray
generator (refer to X-ray Dose / Exposure Time Settings on page 5-4.
3. Assemble the rings, bars and holders so that the entire sensor area is visible
through the ring. This applies to horizontal or vertical Bitewing holders, and
periapical (anterior or posterior) holders.
4. Apply a new disposable sheath to the image sensor, making sure that it
covers the portion of the cable which may come into contact with the patient.
