- the pins show excessive play: try moving the derailleur cage by hand to test for free play.
- deformations, breaks or cracks in the battery.
Also check the chain (oxidised, worn, damaged or jammed links) and chainrings (worn or
damaged teeth) for problems.
If one or more of these problems are found or in the event of any doubts with regard to the
correct operation of the component, contact a specialised mechanic as indicated in Chapter 2,
"Information and technical support".
7 - M A I N T E N A N C E / L U B R I C AT I O N / C L E A N I N G / S T O R A G E
• The duration of the components is variable based on the conditions of use, frequency and
quality of maintenance. For a good maintenance of the components it is therefore necessary
to repeat frequently cleaning and lubrication, especially in severe conditions of use (e.g.
every time after washing the bicycle, after each ride on wet, dusty or muddy roads, etc.).
• Check chapter 8 to determine the frequency with which you should have maintenance
performed on your components by a specialised mechanic: Period maintenance.
• Dirt seriously damages the bicycle and its components. Wash, clean and dry your bicycle
carefully after use.
Caution: to avoid compromising the integrity of the system, wash your bicycle with the rear
derailleur and front derailleur batteries installed.
